what you have in mind will work fine…..jon boat with a small outboard and trolling motor….I have one and I only use a trolling motor but I only use it on rivers
this will be fine unless you go on a big lake with big waves – that could be dangerous
I have a 16×48 jon-boat, just put new styrofoam in the floor 2″ thick and exterior 1/2 plywood flooring. Makes it run smoother and adds to the flotation, as it reduces the sound, and stress on the aluminum floor between the ribbing. a 25 HP Mariner that pushes it right along…. Great for fishing and runs all day on less than 5 gal of gas…… Oh yah a steering console and controls forward, but is is a one pull rope starter….. not electric start…. all for the price of $2550 with Titlt Trailer…… five zero one, 5 four 5, 6 two 2 seven.
